Baby Botox

Baby Botox is a term that is used to describe a treatment done with small doses of Botox. It is ideal for those who are younger in age and/or using Botox for preventative measures.

ABOUT

  • Botox is a safe + effective drug that is used for the prevention + treatment of mild to moderate wrinkles.

  • Botox is used preventatively in those who are in their 20’s and are wanting to prevent the early signs of aging.

  • It’s a great treatment for those who are nervous about Botox + want to dip their toes in the water because this is a temporary and short lived treatment.

DURATION

  • With a full dose of Botox, the typical duration is 3-4 months. Because DOSE = DURATION the duration of Baby Botox will be less than 3 months as we are injecting less units.

  • Trust me… once you try it, you will want those results to LAST and you will find you are returning for the full dose at your next appointment.

WHEN

  • Baby Botox is done when your sole purpose is to prevent the formation of wrinkles. The ideal patient is someone in their 20’s who is starting to notice slight facial wrinkles and wants to get ahead of the wrinkle.

  • If you are in your 20’s and already have deep set lines that are present when you aren’t lifting your brows, you will need a full dose.

HOW

  • Botox injections are done to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes (though there are many other areas we can use this miracle drug). This relaxation decreases the force of contraction, and thus prevents existing wrinkles from getting deeper, or new ones from forming.

Cost

  • Baby Botox costs less than traditional Botox because fewer units are used than a traditional dose. BUT remember that dose = duration. If you do a small dose, your Botox won’t last the full 3-4 months and you may find that you are returning to the office much more frequently than if you received a full dose.

Efficacy

  • It’s not less effective, but it does produce a less prominent result and doesn’t last as long. Again, this is due to the smaller dose used in “Baby Botox.”
