“ a tan is your skin crying out for help. ”

-Dr. Obagi

I created this post for those who want to start using a sunscreen, but don’t know what one will be best for them. I like to think about sunscreen as I do lipstick. There are different colors, consistencies, and occasions. Here is a fun little cheat sheet for those who want to start wearing sunscreen, or those who want to have fun and play around with new products. THE BEST SUNSCREEN IS THE ONE THAT YOU WILL WEAR.

These are all tried, loved and TL approved!

Living on the Central Coast of California, my family loves to play Tennis, Golf, and go hiking. I am outside a lot, trying to enjoy as much of the natural beauty around me. I did a full blog post titled Am I Covered? where I discuss the importance of sunscreen in protecting your skin from the sun and its damaging rays. I also discuss the differences between physical and chemical sunscreen, and how to choose the best option for you. Since I have already done that, I am going to focus this blog post on my favorite sunscreen options and help to differentiate between the sunscreens offered at Aesthera.

I feel so blessed to be part of the beauty industry. It allows me to be the influencer and driving force behind you applying your sunscreen daily and wearing a hat while outside. I’ve got you covered!

*The sunscreens below are all available at Aesthera and available for pick-up or shipping. If you are interested in purchasing, please contact me here.

** Apply your skincare products, followed by sunscreen and finally makeup if wearing. Re-apply every 2 hours.

*** All sunscreens below protect agains the damaging effects of UVA/UVB and IR-A rays, and from HEV light.

ZO SUNSCREEN + PRIMER spf 30

With the smooth matte finish, it helps to absorb surface oil in those who get oily during the day. This sunscreen doubles as a makeup primer creating a beautiful surface for makeup to be applied upon.

I love this sunscreen because I get oily throughout the day, and this helps to decrease the mid-day shine. It also has a universal tint that evens complexion and diminishes skin imperfections.

my favorite for those who have oily skin

ZO SMART TONE spf 50

This sunscreen was designed to blend into most skin tones. With a ultra-lightweight finish, this is a easy sunscreen to throw on before your daily activities.

This product quickly became one of my favorite sunscreens. It comes out of the bottle white, but has little bronzing beads that burst with color. It provides a beautiful bronzed glow to your complexion. LOVE

my favorite for those who have normal/dry skin and want a long-lasting luminous glow

ZO SUNCREEN + POWDER spf 40

A powder sunscreen that provides buildable coverage with light reflection minerals for a gorgeous glow. Can be applied over makeup and re-applied throughout the day.

I love that we have this sunscreen option! I keep one in my purse, sport bag and car. Did you know you need to re-apply your sunscreen every 2 hours? With the sunscreen + powder, you are able to keep your spf at your fingertips throughout the day! I especially love that this product hydrates and helps to absorb surface oils to decrease that oil glow we get half-way through the day.

my favorite for those on the go who need a quick re-application option

ELTA MD ELEMENTS spf 44

As a 100% physical sunscreen, this is an excellent option for all skin types. With this being oil and chemical free, it has become one of my favorite daily sunscreens for those who have sensitive/acne prone skin.

This is a very easy sunscreen to throw on at the beginning of the day with it’s universal tint that enhances most skin types while leaving a hydrating and glowing finish.

my favorite for those with normal/dry skin, or those with sensitive/acne prone skin

ELTA MD SPORT spf 50

The best option for the any athlete or outdoorsman. I love that this is able to be applied to wet or dry skin, and is water-resistant!

I love to keep this bottle in my athletic bag. It allows me to play all day in the sun and not worry about UVA/UVB exposure and damage. I also use it for my son before we have a beach day or play outside in the yard. Massages into the skin easy and doesn’t leave a white tint to the skin. A great option for the whole family!

My favorite for those who swim, ski, run, golf, tennis, beach, or hike.
